The Sholem Community of Los Angelesis a secular Jewish educational, cultural, and social institution. Our Sunday school teaches Jewish history, culture, and ethics. Our progressive community explores and perpetuates Jewish identity by understanding our history and culture, celebrating our traditions, and observing Jewish holidays.
Secular Jewish... We, like the majority of American Jews, consider ourselves cultural or secular Jews, that is, Jewish but not religious.
Progressive... Some of us grew up in secular Jewish homes with Yiddish/labor traditions that we'd like to perpetuate. Others have found a way to be Jewish that harmonizes with progressive values of social responsibility and justice.
Our Sunday school and community meets every Sunday at Culver City Middle School, 4601 Elenda Street, Culver City, CA.
