About Melting Pot Moms - South of Boston

Who We Are

A few months ago, I was looking online for a group in the Boston area where parents and children of multicultural families could meet. As my husband and I are of different ethnic backgrounds, and have a biracial daughter, we have always wanted but have found it difficult to meet other families with similar diversity. Unfortunately, I was unable to find a group, one which was dedicated to bringing families like ours together in this area. However, I found a Meetup group called "Melting Pot Moms" that had chapters throughout the country. I looked into the group and found it had great things to offer, and so I decided to start a chapter here in Massachusetts.

This group is for Multicultural, Biracial and Multiracial families (through birth or adoption) and any family, south of Boston, that wants to participate in the celebration of Multiculturalism. This group is intended for us and our children to build lasting friendships and celebrate our diverse families.

Our goal is to schedule events at local museums, parks, and cultural events at locations south of Boston where we can get together and get to know each other. We will make every effort to accommodate our family's busy schedules and try to schedule our family events on weekends. We will also schedule some Moms Night Out events!


We hope our group will be a place where you and your family can feel at ease, and where you will make lasting friendships.







Our Mission

• Educate ourselves and our children about different cultures
  
• Provide a social environment where our children can learn to appreciate their own ethnicities, as well as those of others
  
• Support our members in regards to issues of child-rearing and family enrichment
  
• Promote, support, and celebrate multi-culturalism in our communities
  
• Establish a national network to support multi-ethnic families throughout the country
  

Membership Requirements

• Please complete all membership questions.
  
• Membership is decided by the organizer and / or assistant organizers. Prior to becoming a permanent member, I would like the pleasure of meeting you. After you apply to join we'll set up a time to meet!
